Turn timber into tomorrow's sustainable solutions
The future of sustainability depends on professionals who can maximize the potential of renewable resources. By earning a Graduate Certificate in Timber Circular Economy online from Oregon State University, you will develop the expertise to lead in the forest and building sectors and beyond — driving solutions for sustainable products through resource efficiency, design, life cycle analysis and innovative wood science.
What is timber circular economy?
Timber circular economy implements policies and high-tech solutions that optimize renewable resources, minimize environmental impacts and maximize carbon storage throughout a product's lifecycle, from sustainable sourcing and advanced manufacturing to end-of-life scenarios that reintegrate materials through reuse and recycling. This supports the long-term economic and environmental viability of the forest sector, enhancing its competitiveness as a leader in innovation.
You’ll collaborate with Oregon State’s College of Forestry faculty and industry leaders to learn about sustainable forest management policies, advanced manufacturing and design strategies for resource optimization and material recovery, methods for service life planning and environmental impact assessment.
