Oregon State’s Master of Science in Nutrition – Professional Dietetics program focuses on hands-on learning experiences paired with research training that will help you develop into a practitioner who stands out as a leader in health care and the community.

The online coursework integrates multiple disciplines relevant to nutrition including biochemical, physiological and clinical nutrition as well as counseling and program management skills. As you progress through the MS-PD program, you’ll gather evidence to solve problems and advance practice, and you’ll conduct original research while demonstrating leadership skills.
Degree requirements
A minimum of 49-50 quarter credits are required to graduate with your master's degree in nutrition. The curriculum is structured to progress with a peer cohort for the first year.
Additional program features
Site-based internship rotations
This program includes a dietetic internship accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. In your second year of study, you will be required to reside in Oregon to complete site-based dietetic internship rotations.
Capstone project
In the first year, you will work with an academic graduate advising committee to develop a research question. As you progress into your internship rotations, you will gather evidence and data to support a capstone project.
The capstone project is designed to foster the development of research in identifying best practices and in making practice-based decisions.
