Staff Bio

Howard M. Burns is the Director of Corporate Education for Oregon State University Ecampus. In this role, he develops and oversees this new unit to grow Ecampus’ corporate education agreements, which give working professionals expanded access to Oregon State’s online degrees and programs. Such collaborations are currently in place with Peet’s Coffee, Bright Horizons EdAssist Solutions, and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association.

Howard’s career has been in high technology where he led learning experience initiatives at Amazon, Microsoft and SAP. At Amazon, he was responsible for establishing the program that optimized customer support at 17 global centers. He spent 12 years at Microsoft as a senior manager, developing its learning partner channel strategy.

Howard earned his B.S. in Computer Science from Bradley University and his M.S. in Computer Science from DePaul University.
