Earn your teaching license while working side by side with experienced teachers in an engaging, part-time master’s program that puts you in the classroom on day one. Oregon State University’s hybrid Master of Arts in Teaching in Clinically Based Elementary Education is a licensure program that will prepare you to become an effective teacher and educational leader capable of managing a classroom.
You’ll gain hands-on experience while engaging with a cohort of like-minded peers and maximizing your time in high-quality clinical settings. During your first year, you will work in a classroom at least twice weekly. In your second year, you will be in the classroom daily to experience the clinical learning environment.

The MAT-CBEE program is a unique partnership between Oregon State’s College of Education and school districts in the Willamette Valley and the Portland metro region. You’ll learn from renowned OSU faculty online while co-teaching with experienced, senior teachers in partner districts throughout Oregon.

Program details
The coursework in this Master of Arts in Teaching program features culturally literate education, teaching for social justice and science and math topics leading to an Oregon preliminary teaching license in multiple subjects (elementary education).
The hybrid Master of Arts in Teaching in Clinically Based Elementary Education program is offered by Oregon State’s College of Education.
Degree requirements

Hybrid learning format
This program blends online coursework with in-person learning. Each term, your learning experience will include fully online courses; hybrid courses that are a combination of online and face-to-face learning in local school districts; and field practicums in district classrooms.
